How to alter your clothes? -
July 9th 2011, 03:09 PM
I have this problem with the shirts that I buy: None of them look good on me. I can fit in a small or medium at the waist, but I have a rather big chest and while that doesn't bother me, the fact that I have to buy large shirts sometimes to keep the shirt material from stretching or being tight and uncomfortable does bother me. And I'd also like to customize my clothes to be a bit more... Me.
So, I was wondering, how do you alter your clothes yourself to fit you better? I have access to all manner of sewing gadgets, from regular needle and thread to a full-fledged sewing machine. ![]() It takes a long time to grow an old friend. - John Leonard |

Its not so much that I alter my cloths with pins and needles and such but I will add a heck load of jewelry or add a crazy belt to them or what not. Personalize it other ways. Id cut the neck and make it drap on one shoulder. I would but bagging clothes to start with so it will fall off my shoulder and wear a tank underneath.
I would suggest that if your clothes are bigger around the waist when they fit right in the boobage then wash them and then dry it in the dryer once. See if it feels right still then because it could shrink a little making the fit better then every time you wash your clothes again, at least the shirts that fit right after washing them once, hang dry them. Always remember to put your happiness first.
