Masquerade ball. - September 3rd 2011, 10:13 PM

My Freshers ball for University is a Masquerade Ball. I am super excited because a shop in town sells masquerade masks and I have always wanted a reason to buy one.

I bought a dress a few weeks ago on an impulse buy. I had no special occasion to wear if for and I was tempted to take it back and then I found out I got into University so I decided to keep it for the ball. It isn't online yet so I can find a picture of it right now.

I have also got 2 masks and I am not sure which one goes best with the dress.
One similar to this but it only has less feathers and stuff at the side http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Burlesque-...#ht_500wt_1156
and then this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Venetian-M...8#ht_500wt_922

The second one is my favourite as it fits my face better and I think because my dress has lace sleeves so the first one is a bit too much lace really.
When I get a chance I will post a picture of me in my dress and the two masks I have got so you can see what the whole outfit looks like. I am also not sure whether to wear nude tights or black tights with the dress so I will need opinions on that too when I post pictures.

My main problem is I am not sure what to do with my hair because of the elastic or the ribbon on the mask keeps getting in the way or getting tangled up in my hair.
My hair is medium blonde, naturally wavy and collar bone length.

I am also unsure how to do my eye make up.
I want to go for dramatic eye make up but I am stupid when it comes to make up. I can't do false eyelashes or eyeliner. Also because of my pale skin tone the dramatic eye make up might look a bit too much when I take my mask off.

Hey,

I will add my opinions in on what type of tights to wear once you post the pictures. However, I will say that I love the Venetian mask a lot more than the Burlesque mask.
When going for dramatic eye makeup, I recommend making your eyes look smokey. What color are your eyes? Almay has four different smokey eyes kits each for a different eye color. I absolutely love Almay and I recommend checking out the smokey eye kit as it tells you exactly how to apply it. Click here. You should also add mascara.
If you have a few weeks until the ball, you could practice putting on eyeliner until you get proficient at it. It's much easier to line the top line so I suggest that you start with that.
As for your hair, you could straighten it that night and you an Anti-frizz serum to keep it completely relaxed and that will also help it get less tangled up in the elastic.
I hope this helped.
