Black & red plaid pants? -

I bought a pair of red and black plaid pants a while back, they look like this:
 Any ideas of what tops to wear with it? The only things I have that really look nice are a couple band T's that are mainly black with a red logo on them. If life seems jolly rotten, there's something you've forgotten. And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing. -♪♪♪- Always look on the bright side of life.  |

Any shirts you have that are black will go really well. Any other colors probably won't look so good. You may be able to pull of white, but black would really look the best

I have the exact same ones!!!! I must say you have great taste. I typically wear a black plain top with converses or knee high boots. Or a band tshirt would look great with them as well.

I feel like wearing a red shirt would be too much red and you'd end up looking like a strawberry

I have those exact same pants. My favorite outfit with them is just wearing some cool cargo-like boots, a black miniskirt, a leather jacket, and a black tshirt. Or just the boots and tshirt. Or sneakers. Whatevers
I wear the skirt because I don't like the fact that if I lean over in these pants, everyone can see my ass crack. unattractive. Besides, I'm totally bringing back the "wear a skirt with jeans" fad. Incidentally, I also wore these pants for a play last year in theater. It's way over the top, I'm wearing heeled boots instead and ridiculous hair/makeup... But yeah. Still got the leather jacket and skirt on, with a chain from my wallet. I'm wearing a red tshirt which looked alright with the black leather, but I wouldn't usually have that much red  Also, don't wear a really awesome white band t, it actually looks like shit together.  Take me seriously. I dare you. |

I say the shirt should be black, or mostly black.
