So yea, I am not shopping for a wedding wring, but instead a promise ring..

Ever since I have started dating her, I've made several promises to her, and kept them all and she knows this -

Now, I want to buy her a Gold Heart Shaped Promise Ring - But I do not know what her ring size Is!! I can't ask her parents because her parents will hint it off to her or tell her -

Any help to this?

Sadly, No she doesn't - She sold all rings she had before I got the chance to see what size -

Go shopping somewhere they sell rings (some outdoor markets do this) and suggest she try some on. She'll try a few in her size and voila.

I know some guys get their girls a ring, but then after they give it too her sometimes they will take it in to get 'fitted' or replaced to the right size.

My boyfriend bought me a ring for my birthday. He asked my sister to have me try on her ring and she told him her size so he got the same size because it fit me. Do you think you could pull something like that off?

If you'd feel comfortable asking any of her friends for a favor, try to get her and a friend to go out to a mall or something and get the friend to take her into a jewelry store to get fitted and then get the friend to tell you her size.

You can always just buy the ring, give it to her, and if it doesn't fit her take it and get it sized. It's not that big a deal. I think she'd be excited about it either way.

As silly as this sounds, I stole my fiance's ring (before we were engaged) and jokingly put it on different fingers. Managed to slip it onto the ring finger and, "Oh hey! Look at that, we're the same size!" Kinda stupid (I have no shame, haha), but it worked for us. You -could- try something along those lines if your hands seem to be similar in size, but if not.... I found this amusing response to the same question on Yahoo! answers:

Make a nice comment about her hands. Then make a comment about the size you think she wears. Most wear a size 5 to a size 6. In a lot of cases your shoe size is the same or close to the same as your ring size. So you can make a game out of it. Ask her to guess what your shoe size is and see if she gets it right then have her guess your ring size to see if she gets that right. Then you do the same. She'll just think your crazy. You can maybe tell her if she's closer to being right about your size you'll get her a Starbucks or something and if your closer you just get an extra kiss for the night.

You might also try getting a friend of hers (who you know won't hint anything) to take your girlfriend shopping at Walmart/Target and try on costume rings just for fun, and then have her report back to you. You could do the same kind of thing yourself if you go shopping together. "Oh hey, that's an interesting ring. I wonder how it'd look on?"
