Dinner party dress :/ -
December 15th 2011, 09:45 AM
HELP ME LADIES.
I need a dress for an evening dinner dance I'm going to next Friday. I have LOADS of dresses but they're all like...night out on the town dresses, and all my shoes are 5 inch heels :/ I have no idea what to wear. I want one I can wear a nice cardigan over, to cover scars, and I don't want huge heels on cause I'm out of practice and it's gonna be a long night. It isn't like a ballgown kinda dinner...but I dont think my out on the town dresses are suitable for it :/ I don't know what I'm meant to wear!!!! Anyway. Halp? ![]() Just a hop, skip and a jump. |

If it is like a ballroom dance, then a short sleek dress with a cardigan and ballet flats would look nice
What do some of your out in town dresses look like? You can wear some stuff to make it seem more formal. I think your idea of a cardigan will do just that.

I think pretty much any long dress will do. If you look up formal dress that's what you get
Long and skinny I suppose not like. Long and puffy or weddingish Maybe something like this As for shoes, just some nice sandals would be cute, or some flats. Or if you want, you can wear heels and get those fast flats if your feet start hurting. What the commercials don't tell you is what to do with your SHOES! like idk this
![]() Take me seriously. I dare you. |

I've decided on a knee length purple lace dress with a black cardigan. I found some really lovely deep purple mini-heels too
![]() My out in town dresses were unsuitable...most of them are only just long enough to preserve my modesty

Always nice to have purple and black combination, I guess you have made the right choice according to the atmosphere. Wish you good luck. Have fun and enjoy the party.
