Bikini's only for thinner people? - March 18th 2012, 03:24 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering by the original poster or by a Moderator. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

Just wondering what everyone's opinion is. I know if I want to wear one I should just do it but I just want to know what others think, should people who aren't textbook definition of thin wear a bikini? Guys what is your opinion?

I think everyone has the right to wear one. Just depends on what you feel comfortable with.

Personally? I think that if anyone has the self confidence to wear one and feels comfortable wearing one, then they should be able to wear it theres nothing wrong with that.

I think if someone has that amount of self confidence in their body then they should totally rock it. I only wish I were confident enough to wear one, but I wouldn't have near enough confidence to even try one on. I say no matter what you look like, if you want to, then by all means go and do it, and own it, because anyone can if they know they can to themselves.

I've seen plenty of non-skinny super perfect bodied girls wear bikini's. I never really saw the point in wearing them over a normal swimsuit, but I don't think anyone shouldn't be able to wear them. Just wear whatever you have or feel comfortable in.

Everyone is entitled to wear one. I'm not the skinniest girl in the world, but I wear bikini's every summer. Do I care what others think? Absolutely not. It's what I'M comfortable with...not what everyone is comfortable with.

Like everyone said - it's a matter of personal comfort and self-confidence. I could never wear a bikini - in fact, I only wear a swimsuit at all when I absolutely have to.

Well I really want to wear one and I'm not uber chubby. If fact I'm in the best shape I've ever been due to being on school wrestling team, I had to lose the weight to compete. But since for the last two years the people I've been surround by and most influenced by are professional MMA fighters that tease each other that they're getting fat when the dude has fricken abs and the occasional status post about fat girls being rude for wearing bikini's and no one wants to see that. er I shouldn't care but I've always been modest and it'd be an issue of coming out of my shell...also I've got rather large boobs lol, do any of you have issues with them...er falling out when you jump in the pool?

Issues with boobies falling out?
Oh. Yes.
This is why I hate swimsuits.

I think anybody has the right to wear a bikini, obviously. Just wear what is comfortable for you. I would recommend trying on lots of sizes next time and see if you can find one for more boobular people. The "sports" fit ones on top are a lot of times better for busty people. They're shaped like sports bras rather than a triangle "look at my nipple sticking out" shape. They may not be as "sexy" but they're more practical.

Depends on what your definition of thin people is or what do you mean by fat because there are alot of variations of what you might think is fat and what other people would think. Honestly, it shouldn't really matter but take into consideration that if a fat fat (like obese not just a bit overweight) girl is out in bikini people WILL judge her and not in a good way. Just saying be prepared to be stared at.

People are gonna judge you whatever you wear. People are judged for being fat, thin and everything in between. If you can build up the self confidence to wear one, then go for it. Please yourself and ignore anyone who hates on you. And, you may be pleasantly surprised. Sometimes I've worn things that I think I look awful in and ended up with unexpected compliments, so you never know. Our judgement of our own bodies is often flawed.
I'd love to have the confidence to wear a bikini, so if you do that's awesome.

I'm going to be the odd one out here a bit..while for the most part I agree that if you have that kind of confidence you should go for it. I also think its important that you aren't well...falling out of it..but that goes for anyone with anything they wear not just a bikini haha. Anyways...as long as you find one that fits properly and you'd like to then I say go for it .

Personally, I believe everyone should wear a bikini if they feel comfortable in it . we all have beautiful bodies and well being a little chubby isn't bad at all. I mean, everything that is covered that needs to be covered. I can understand why people freak out when nipples and ect are shown, but a lil belly fat? Pssh that looks fine and a lot of girls actually look beautiful like that! I'm a bit too skinny to the point where you can see my ribs and I get paranoid how I look in a bathing suit because I feel I look too thin-sickening thing. Plus I'm more on the flatter chested side. But that doesn't stop me from wearing a bathing suit and it shouldn't stop you either!

And personally those little... witches. Yeah lets call them witches. That say certain girls shouldn't wear bikinis can go *beeep* themselves. Who says they have a right to look?
You know some girls actually don't like super muscles and find it disturbing. How about they go put on a shirt, hmmm? They are just a bunch of eargagent haters. And they are lucky they don't have me on facebook because I'd give them a mouthful to read muahahaha. Jerks. Even if they could easily kick my ass, pshh they are still a bunch of haters and haters piss me off so much.

Ignore them. They might be all big and strong inside, but really they are weak insecure little boys taking their problems out wrongfully. Wear that Bikini and flaunt it! And beat up anyone who says otherwise.

It shouldn't matter what other people think, if you have the confidence and really want to wear one, then do. I don't because (Like it says on my gender) showing my boobs isn't what I'm into. I'm also bigger and need a swimsuit for actual laps, so, yea.

I have a friend who is kind of in the middle in weight, and when she wears a bikini it's smokin'. (But then again, her boobs are popping out, and it's the whole personality that adds to it, so, yea...)

If someone is comfortable wearing one, then they should be able to wear it. With that said I don't think old grannies should wear them, especially when they don't wear straps. It can be rather frightening.

I'm not stick thin, I'd consider myself chubby and busty, but I like to wear one when I go to the beach, lay in my hammock outside, etc. I'm kinda self-conscious so I don't wear it to the local public pool or anything :P

But ultimately, I think anyone who wants to wear one can.

I think there's a line between when you can wear one and when you shouldn't.

I think if you're spilling out of a bikini and there are lumps and bumps where there shouldn't be, that you shouldn't really wear it in public. Fair enough on your back garden or whatever.

I know that I don't feel comfortable wearing a bikini, because I'm big. However, people's ideas of where the line between wearing or not wearing a bikini is different.

If you have to confidence, that is absolutely amazing. You shouldn't let other peoples opinions affect you <3

If a person is comfortable enough to wear a bikini - props to them. But I feel as if there's a line between being able to wear one and not being able to. If you need more support in places.. then I feel you shouldn't wear one.

If someone is comfortable wearing one, they should go for it. I would personally love to wear a bikini again, but I gained a pudge in my belly after going on meds and I can't put it off. I don't have the confidence to wear one anymore.

everyone has the right to wear one . It just depends if you feel insecure or comfortable with wearing one . Many girls fear that their body will be criticized or judged because certain characteristics of their body may not be society's version of perfect to a certain extent .

Non-PG13 language here, sorry.

Well, I'm really hypocrital to say this, and will also sound kinda mean, but here goes.

Fuck if you have lumps popping out. I'm sorry, but people have the right to be comfortable in whatever they want to wear. Nobody should feel ashamed because their body is different than another body. Sure, most of us wouldn't feel comfortable wearing these things, but no, there isn't a "line' where it isn't okay, it's always okay. Is there a line to be too skinny, do we no longer want to see your bones? No. Every body has something beautiful about it. If I was on a beach, and a completely obese woman was wearing a bikini, I would not think it's gross or something, I would think it's freaking hot on the beach and she wants to tan her skin. Good for friggen her. Like, really, why does it matter? One of the reasons extremely obese people don't lose the weight is that they feel embarassed being in public. Do you want to know why? Words like these.

I don't feel comfortable in a bikini. But in no way would I ever judge another person for wearing them. Don't like looking at larger people in less clothing? Don't look at them.

I believe if someone is comfortable in one, then it's completely their choice if they wear it or not, and people shouldn't look down on them for it. I for one, would not feel comfortable in one, but if you do, go for it.

I think that if someone is comfortable wearing a bikini out in public then rock it! I mean, I'm completely self-conscious, and I'm far from the "perfect" body, but if I feel comfortable in something, I wear it. If you spend forever worrying about what other people think everyone else should wear everyone would be naked or in a parka 24/7.

As long as a person is comfortable with them and no body parts hang out, I think it's fine. I can't wear a Bikini on the top until I can go to a certain store and get one that'll fit because my boobs refuse to fit into anything from local stores around here. It's sad ;o;

Just a girl with an angel above, just a girl with an angel to love. My angel grew wings and she did dare to fly. But I promise my angel, it's only good night but never good-bye. My angel, my angel in heaven above. My angel, my darling, you'll always have my love. Rest in peace, my sweet darling, it's only temporary that we part. My angel, my angel, how you still do steal my heart </3

"Sometimes I wonder why I'm so full of these endless rhymes about the way I feel inside. I wish I could just get it right...."
