Ok, so my college sent me a check from a Controlled Disbursement Account.

Some questions to anyone who can answer them.

One- What the hell is a Controlled Disbursement Account?
Two- Is it safe to cash?

So it looks like it's basically something to help you pay for the little stuff you're having to pay for in college? You should ask around - see if everyone at your college got one or just some people. Then, maybe you could go talk to the Office of Financial Aid? You know something's fishy when your college starts giving out free checks, since those don't exist. I dunno why I'm answering this. I have no idea, but I dunno why they'd send you a check with the intent of making you pay more later. Was there any fine print included? Good luck!
