Christmas budget... -
November 18th 2010, 05:37 PM
How much do you normally spend on Christmas presents, if you know? Do you have a budget? The last two years I spent about £60 in total. I know it's not all about money, but if I see something I know my friends will like, I'll spend about £10-£15 on each.
I want to get people nice things that they will enjoy. I thought it would be nice to share cheap but meaningful present ideas on this thread since some of us are approaching the dreaded Christmas shopping panic.
Maybe it's not my weekend but it's gonna be my year.

Well, I usually spend around £5 on each person in my family and my friends. If I have a boyfriend at the time then they'll get a bit more spent on them

I will spend about £20/30 on my Mum.
About £15 on my brother £30 ish on my boyfriend (this year I have bought him tickets to a show which was last month and I am buying him something little so he has something to open on Christmas day so I have spent more around £45 ish) £15 on my boyfriend's sister They are usually the only people I buy for. We usually buy presents as a family for other family members so that doesn't cost me. |

Me and my friends do Secret Santa so that we don't have to spend loads on eachother. And the budget is £15.. not a penny under, not a penny over
![]() I spend about £30 between my dad and stepmum. £15 on my sister. About £5-£10 on my grandad. That's about it So not too bad.

Secret Santa is a good idea
I might look into that this year.My Christmas budget will probably be much more than usual because of my boyfriend. He's worth it. ![]() To save money I like getting people handmade presents; if I know them well enough it's really personal and they usually appreciate it. I make biscuits and mince pies, draw pictures, write stories and personalise T-shirts. I used to do embroidery but I got bored of that.
Maybe it's not my weekend but it's gonna be my year.

Depends, for my interior family I spend about $50 each.
On my friends we do the secret Santa thing and the budget is $30. My other family I don't know we are a big family and I would have to file bankrupt if I went on to buy each something, but I buy for my grandparents and my favorite cousins/uncles. Everyone is born right-handed. Only the greatest overcome it. |

I don't really do Christmas for my family and parents, so it's just my girlfriend this year. It's going to be £35, and uh, that's not including what I'm borrowing from the parents and the train fare.

Well, I'm going to buy my girlfriend a blender and an ice cream maker so ever how much that comes to I guess D= (What a weird choice, but her idea
)I don't spend much on my parents, like upto £10, including my step-parents. I have to many siblings to spend loads on each so I get them something little each, but my girlfriend is doing joint presents to them with me ^^ I don't really buy friends Christmas presents though, but if they get me something I feel obliged to get them something in return. So, in conclusion, too much D= 'And in the garden, lust began The animal instinct, the wanton man She fed him with a hunger, an appetite And fillin' with emotion he took a bite' Def Leppard - Women |

I've spent a lot on my partner, but to be honest I haven't counted how much and I wouldn't like to say... On my mum, I usually spend about £200-300.
For other friends I used to spend £20-£30 but I don't buy for them anymore.

Roughly I'll spend around £20-30 on each parent.
£10 For my two siblings. £30 On my 2year old nephew (it's his birthday again in jan )and anything between £50 to more on my fiance. I stopped buying for friends a long time ago now. |

I'm an excellent gift giver. I usually buy things on sale, and only usually spend about $30 a person. I don't have many people to buy for though. Just my mom, sister, grandma, nina, and 3 of my cousin's kids.

I've spent £50 on one friend this year. and £100 each on my little brother and sister (there birthday is also 3weeks before) £15 on 2 other friends. Thats over £300 already and i still ave atleast 15 more people to get :S
Also about 60 people get a card attatched to a candycane and minni cracker and on average I spend £5 on wrapping each present. I'm obcessed which making it look good, bows, labels, stickers! Here we stand, side by side,
Turn around and take 5 paces. My blackened tears, your smiling eyes, I cock my gun familar faces. xXx--tash--xXx |
