Exclamation perms - June 30th 2012, 11:10 PM

a friend of mine had a perm about a month ago and she started to hate the way it looked, but it's already started to fall out and she has long hair, but she's lost a bit of hair too but she thinks it might be because she can't and doesn't comb it anymore because of the perm, she cant...so maybe just alot more dead hair stays in there and its nothing to worry about?
she only wanted this one perm but regrets it so shes worried about her hair now and wondering if only one perm will hurt it and permenantly damage it and make it dry and thin, will this one perm make her hair all thin or will it be ok, because it was just one perm?

Re: perms - July 1st 2012, 08:51 PM

If she hadn't done anything to her hair prior to the perm then it won't be too damaged. Perms use harsh chemicals so it will damage her hair, but just one perm won't completely kill it. If they were that bad, nobody would get perms.
Has she tried combing her hair in the shower? I have wavy/curly hair naturally and that's what I have to do to untangle it.

And here you are living, despite it all.
