Arrow dying? - March 12th 2013, 01:12 PM

Ive been thinking about dying my hair for awhile now, but I'm still not sure.
I really like the look of dyed hair, and for a year i had dyed my hair deep deep red, but it was only supposed to stay in for 30 washes. So i'm still a little bit iffy with the "temporary" dye.
I also really like my hair color as it is, so I was thinking just getting some streaks insdead of dying my whole head, or maybe highlights.
Also, is there anyway to dye my hair a cool color without having to bleach it?

Well it really depends on the brand and how your hair is how quickly or slowly the dye will wash out. Temporary hair dyes are usually a good bet if you're not sure because they really do not last long at all, 2 months at the VERY most, and that is in an extreme case. As for dying without bleaching, it's possible but the colour will show up differently than what you may be looking for. For example if you have light brunette hair, it'll be a bit darker and brown-er, so for stuff like red that's okay but like blue wouldn't show up well at all really, or not very blue anyway. And if your hair is really dark or black, then you can forget about any colour showing over it honestly without bleaching it first.

You can dye your hair without bleaching it, but the color won't be anywhere near as vibrant and depending on what color your hair is now, and it might turn out a weird color.

And here you are living, despite it all.

If you're not sure maybe you could try a colour by having it just in your fringe? Then you can see how it looks on you without committing to having it all over. I have had purple hair for about 4 years now, and I never had to bleach it. My hair is naturally light brownish, obviously it didn't come out THAT vibrant at first, but it was definately purple, not even browny purple. It got gradually brighter the more i had it done, now it's REALLY bright. xD
