Arrow bleaching? - August 2nd 2014, 01:19 PM

So I want to do this hair color thing when the red in my hair fades to a weird orange color

And to do this, I would need to bleach the fronts of my hair.
The only thing is that my hair is really sensitive, it's taken me 16 years to find a shampoo and conditioner set that works for my hair, so I'm not quite sure what this will do to my hair. I know I would need to condition it everyday and do oil treatments, but I was wondering if anyone had any advise on whether or not I should bleach it if my hair is sensitive?

Bleaching can definitely damage your hair, and even more so because it's sensitive.

Some questions to think about include: Is your hair thin? Is it curly? Is it naturally dry or oily? Do you use heat on your hair? How does your hair react to heat (straightening and curling irons, etc.)? Does your stylist think it's a good idea? Does your stylist have any experience with people bleaching hair like yours?

I would bleach a strand of hair first if possible, just to see what happens. Keep in mind that your hair will most likely react differently to the bleach when a bigger area is dyed.

If you do end up bleaching it, make sure you keep your hair healthy. Use a good conditioner, and use oil or mask treatments when necessary.

Remember that you know your hair better than anyone else. Good luck on deciding!

Jenna gave you some really good things to consider when bleaching your hair. It does indeed damage hair to a certain degree, depending on what kind of hair you have. If you do decide to bleach it, I would recommend doing it at a hair salon or having a hair stylist do it at a beauty parlor.
