Highlights ... some advice please
 

okay so i have really dark hair.
it's never been dyed.
never had highlights.
But i wanna try something different.
i like my dark hair though.
I really wanna get blonde highlights/streaks in my hair.
But i've serched for pics on google and everywhere but i cant find some nice pics of people with dark hair and blonde/light brown highlights.
Can anyone help?

i really wouldn't go for blonde highlights in really dark hair.. i just think its looks kinda trashy.

if you insist on going lighter, then perhaps some lighter brown highlights?. i agree with the dark red idea though.. although maybe more auburn so it looks a bit more natural.

As Elle said, avoid telling the stylist "blonde"....usually, unless he/she is skilled, that translates into orange/yellow streaks...which isn't bad, execpt for the fact that that's not what you're aiming for. Instead of blonde/light brown, request "honey" or "caramel" streaks. Oh, and if I were you, avoid getting "chunky" highlights, as they tend to look fake and are quite a nuisance when growing out. Stick to a more natural look :3
