Angry Why will my hair not curl?? - August 19th 2009, 04:22 PM

I hope this doesn't turn in to a rant about how crap I am at everything. But that's how I started feeling this morning. Because no matter what I do, how hard I try, I can NOT curl my hair. And it is SO frustrating!

My hair isn't too long. It's about shoulder length. But it IS naturally straight. Not a kink or a wave in it. And when I try to curl it, usually I get one or two good curls at the front of my face, but when I try anywhere else, my hair actually comes out straight! And that's after my hair has just been washed and dried, when I'm told it's supposed to be easier to style.

I DO have to use straighteners to curl my hair though. Maybe it would help if I invested in curler things? But everyone else seems to get nice glamourous curls with straighteners. I've tried every method I know to curl my hair. I've tried putting the straighteners at the top of my head, half turning them and slowly pulling them through. I've tried the method where you turn the straighteners as you pull it down your hair. I've tried the method where you roll your hair round the straighteners and hold it at the top of your head for a while. I've tried curling small bits of hair, and lots of hair, and still nothing. When I let it go out of the straighteners, I swear it's no different. It's just ... straight.

To the point that when I've done "curling" it, no one can actually tell I've done anything with it. I just stare at a mirror, completely pissed off, thinking "Yep, this is my hair when it's "curled.""

So what am I doing so wrong????

Sometimes it's better to forget how you feel
and remember what you deserve
