Going from blonde to pink to blonde? - January 19th 2010, 04:24 PM

I have dyed blonde hair at the moment, and i want to possibly dye it all pink (or another outragious colour), and I know at some point I'll get bored and want to change it back again. So in order to do that I would have to bleach it blonde again, but would that be an easy process or not?

I have easy access to professional hair colours so that wont be a problem, it's just whether it's *easy* to do and worth the hassle!

Any other tips or advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

I'd say it depends on what hair colour you use. If you use a semi permanant dye, then it will fade after a while, and even if it doesnt completely fade back to blonde, it should be easy to dye over.
I have a friend who has bleached blonde hair, and he dyed his fringe pink, and he didn't have to do anything, it just faded in the end

I've dyed over a blonde fringe pink (and many other colours before) and it did fade, to a really horrible pink, and I did colour over it again. I just wondered how difficult and time consuming the process would be for going back to blonde again. Also with having a crazy colour like pink in your hair it would need to be dyed often due to fading.

yeah.Ive had my hair bright orange and bright red before. But because my head is quite dark its so much effort just from having to bleach the roots as my hair grows. But the colours I used lasted quite a while without having to redye it. Bleaching your hair first generally means the dye takes better and is brighter.
If the pink starts to fade, then it shouldnt be too difficult to go back to blonde. just bleach it once?

Well Manic Panic do bright pink semi permanent hair dyes so you could just use that and keep topping it up. Then when you're bored with it just wash it all out.
There's also Stargazer which do bright semi permanent colours aswell.

I already have the dyes and in many colours too, I think it's called 'Crazy Colour'. It stays in quite well compared to what I've heard about the Stargazer brand, but thanks !
