How to get massive hair - March 15th 2010, 02:30 PM

I have a diffuser, hair drier, straighteners, hair gel, combs.

I have tried diffusing with and without the hair gel. It goes big at the top but I can't get the volume at the roots.
I've tried back combing, it just goes flat
I've tried flipping my head over and hair drying my hair from below.

My hair is naturally curly...Well, I wouldn't say curly. I'd say its got a zillion kinks in it. Its fairly wild and looks lush when its big but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to this...it just depends how I sleep.

I don't like the idea of zillions of products. I use shampoo specifically for big hair, and the gel is also for volume. However, all my products are 100% natural...all made out of trees and the hairs of angels etc.

You get what I mean.
I'm going off point.

Yes. I want massive messy hair.
My hair is just like Keshas (on the left), but with much less volume. However, it is thick.

have you tried using rollers for your roots? or crimp or backcomb the under layers but not the top layers so it's kinda puffed up [if that makes any sense at all.] also i find mousse much more effective than gel, but maybe that's just preference. and backcomb + lots of hairspray.

..and our dreams will break the boundaries of our fears..

Blehh. I really dislike the idea of hairspray. I've tried curlers once and it ended up in large parts of my hair having to be cut off. =/

How simple are they to use?

I know hairspray can be a pain, but it's the easiest way of getting the sort of hair you want. Basically all you need to do is backcomb the roots of your hair and spray with hair spray. Should do the trick.

If you blow dry, flip your head over and blow the bottom of your roots.

L'oreal's Elnett hairsprays are really good. They're strong but at the same time they brush out with a bristle brush really easily, so your hair is all nice and soft after.

You can't move mountains by whispering at them.
