Chlorine turning my hair green! - June 28th 2010, 12:03 AM

I naturally have dirty blonde hair, but I got blonde highlights in my hair about 3 months ago, or less. Now, I've been noticing, since I've been swimming alot more, that the blonde highlights are starting to get a light green tint. What should I do? I heard that you could mix water with white vinegar and rinse your hair with that. Do you think it works, or do you know anything else? I just find it gross that I have greenish highlights now. -.-..

Ive heard of that rememdy, and heard of it working so you should give it a try. Also you can also call the salon who did your hair and ask what they recommend doing.
Try swimming with your hair up or with a pool cap to avoid further green coluration.

Put conditioner in your hair BEFORE you go swimming. I've been competitively swimming for years now, and that's always helped. Ion also has very good chlorine removal shampoo and conditioner (I'd recommend getting some sort of each of these to help remove chlorine build up). Good luck!

Thanks everyone. I'll have to try some of that stuff.
