How can I make my straightened hair smell nicer? - July 20th 2010, 05:23 PM

I always straighten my hair, and well, it smells like burnt hair and ghd. And I'm pretty sure if you add some rain I smell like wet dog. Is there any way I could make my hair smell nice, or at least better?

Your shampoo and conditioner should make your hair smell nice. And if you use heat protection spray before drying and straightening, your hair shouldn't get burnt. Make sure you're using good quality straighteners because you really don't want to burn your hair!

To be honest your straighteners shouldn't burn your hair.
Use heat protection spray which will smell nice and stop your hair getting burnt.

My sister uses protective hair stuff, I forget what its called, before straightening. Its specifically meant to protect the hair, and help the straightening be more successful. Maybe ask a hairdresser about it?

I know what you are talking about. I sometimes can smell a burnt smell on my hair. it isnt actually burning my hair it just kinda gives it that smell. Heat protection spray (redken has really good heat protection spray) and that should get rid of the smell

You should never straighten your hair without using some form of protective product first. Try this. It's what I use, and it works great for me!
