Thin Hair... -
September 1st 2010, 01:38 AM
I have incredibly thin hair, but I love big/poofy hairstyles. I have a hard time getting any sort of volume, even when I use volumizing hair products or blow dry upside down. Ughhh.
Anyone got any tips for getting thicker hair, or making thin hair look thicker? Thanks bunches to anyone who can help. ![]() Edit: No hair extensions please, I'm pretty sure my hair's too thin for those and wouldn't be able to handle it. |

My hair just kinda lies flat. So I take a round brush, with openings, and I use a hair drier on medium heat, and pull the brush from under the hair, and blow it to the end. If you angle the brush so its in a curling motion, you should get a little more volume. I hope that helps a little! Putting layers in your hair might help too!
But those sequins on her dress.. boy, they threw you over the edge. |

Have you tried teasing your hair? If not then I would try that. Have you thought about getting a subtle perm, that could work as well.
I know you said not to suggest hair extensions but if you talk to a hair professional they would be able to tell you if your hair could handle it. There are different types of extensions and different methods of putting them in, so you could look into that. |

Have you considered trying a volume-building shampoo? There are shampoos to help thin hair look thicker, bounce more, etc.

Since you have already tried a variety of different options, I recommend that you ask your stylist what would be best for you.
