Female Advice Preferred: Short Hair Hairstyles

I have recently cut my hair short ( a little bit above shoulders ) now im getting a bit bored always leaving it down. I thought of doing a horsetail but it really doesnt come good.

Now i have no idea of how to put it, please help!!

What's your hair texture?
For example, do you have fine hair, thick hair, coarse hair, curly hair, straight hair, frizzy hair... Etc.

Curly hair is easy, bobby pins that closest match your hair color, and throw them in wherever you want, pinning curls back & such. It makes a difference in curly hair just to have the curls setting differently.

Straight hair is a bit tougher, but I always liked buying a fake flower from "Michael's" or any craft store like that. Bobby pinning a small section of hair back on one side (one or two bobby pins should be enough, don't pin up the WHOLE side, just pin back the section of hair that's by your temple on one side.)
Cut the fake flower, so that the stem is 1.5 - 2 inches, open the bobby pin, and set the flower (by the stem) into the bobby pin along with your hair.

PRESTO!
New, cute look with little effort.

& I'd be happy to know what you think of any ideas I do say, so I know if you don't like certain ideas, that I shouldn't suggest ideas that are similar... and vice versa for if you do like certain ideas.

You could try braiding your hair while its damp before you go to bed. two on top of your head and two on the bottom layer of your hair. then let it lose in the morning and scrunch it wth some hairspray or gel. Ive done that a few times. I like how it turns out. (:
