I refuse to style my hair without heat protector.
When using a heat protector, you can't go with store brands. You have to get them from online, a salon, your stylist. A cheaper one that I like to use before I go to bed. It's a leave in conditioner and heat protectant. http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=paul+mitchell+shine Another I LOVE. Best I've ever used in my hair... It makes your hair shiny, good for your color, provides protection again heat, and restores your hair. http://www.sleekhair.com/16362.html Geek? Nerd? I only straighten my bangs, but every time I do, I use "got2be", and it's worked pretty well for me so far. It's kinda pricey, but I love it.

I will not let heat go anywhere near my hair without it.
I've been using Tresemme lately, and other random ones. They do the job pretty well

I use iron guard spray on my hair when straightening. It seems to work.
