How to keep color vibrant? -
February 21st 2011, 08:49 PM
So as some of you guys know, I recently dyed my hair red
![]() I read that red fades fast and easily so does anyone have any recommendations for products to use that would make it fade less and stay vibrant longer? ![]() Buddy|Live Help Operator|HelpLink Mentor|Social Networking Team Relationships&Dating Mod|Lifestyle Mod|Media&Entertainment Mod Performance Committee |

Yessssss another redhead.
I've had everything from bright, neon red hair to more natural-red colors. Anywaysssss.I absolutely LOVE Shikai products when I have more natural red hair. I have their Color Reflect shampoo in the color 'Warm'. You don't have to buy it online-- you can usually find it at stores that are geared towards organic and natural products such as Whole Foods and Sunflower Market. Not going to lie, the shampoo smells pretty bad, but the smell goes away easily if you have a nice smelling conditioner. For conditioners, I've found that all Dove products work amazingly. You could try their Color Repair Conditioner and it'd be awesome. You can get Dove products pretty much anywhere. ![]() Another product I have lived by is John Freida Color Glaze. I don't know why I can't put my finger on the version for red hair of it (maybe they discontinued it?), but there's also a clear version of it which works for any hair color and works just as well. If you find yourself unhappy with any of those, Matrix and Paul Mitchell have awesome products for everything.
"Love me for me, accept the fact I'm true, live like I want, fufill my dreams, Dream of me, run out free, capture your words and never let them go." I'll see you on the other side. |

![]() And I was thinking about Dove because I heard they are very moisturizing shampoos and conditioners which would be nice since I color my hair so often. And yay for being a red head

I'm not sure what kind of dye you used, but when I used Splat brand hair dye (which involves no mixing of chemicals) it says in order to keep the color vibrant you can mix small amounts of left over dye into your shampoo/conditioner as you wash your hair.
