Short haircuts? -

I'm planning on donating my hair whenever it's long enough and this means that I'm going to have to cut my hair pretty short...as in to the nape of my neck, maybe a little longer. I'm looking for some advice on possible hairstyles once my hair's been cut off.
Here's me (I'm really sorry that I'm wearing my glasses in this picture, since I know it makes things a little bit obnoxious):  I've got a couple of hairstyles I'm thinking about. I too like the linked one, and then the second one.
Obviously the second image is unnatural curls and it looks like your hair is natural curly - so either should be easier to pull off.

I like the linked one a lot. With your facial structure (you seem to have a rounder face), one thing you need to be careful of with short hairstyles is that it you don't add the look of extra "volume" around your face. Try and stay with something just below your chin to help elongate your face a little bit.

I've had that problem in the past, which is why I'm so nervous about cutting my hair short. The disaster I speak of was in eighth grade, when my mother had to cut most of my hair off because of my hair being so thick and so fine that it started to lock together. (This still happens.) She did a better job of it than most hairstylists could, but my hair ended up springing up to...oh, probably an inch and a half above my chin. My hair tends to form fairly large curls, so it didn't work too well until eight or nine months later, despite the fact that my hair grows very quickly. Granted, my face is actually less round than it was four years ago due to my mood issues getting treated (I had a binging habit, so I was really heavy by the time things got figured out), but I really doubt it would work now.
