Updos - August 9th 2011, 03:15 AM

Hey,

I have a Chemistry class every Thursday, and the teacher has said that everyone with long hair has to have their up for the class. I don't want to do just a standard ponytail. I want to do creative and cool-looking stuff. So I need some ideas of updos for people with long hair.

most girls at my school just throw it up in a messy bun on top of there heads, it looks really pretty tho and it always looks as if they spent agos on it which just took a few seconds..

Easy Hair Updos for Long Hair
In my honest opinion, long hair looks the best when let loose. However, if you want to tie them up, a French bun, is an ideal easy hair updo. To make a French bun, first throughly comb your hair and remove all the tangles. This will smoothen all the snarls and give your hair a soft look. Next, pull your hair together and tie a ponytail at an appropriate height. Usually, it is above the nape of your neck, so tie the ponytail higher. Now, begin coiling the hair, around the ponytail. You may have to use a few bobby pins to hold your hair, if your hair is cut in layers. Once the coiling is completed, tuck the ends of your hair underneath the ponytail and secure it with a hair pin.

Re: Updos - August 11th 2011, 06:21 PM

I usually straighten my hair like every day, because it's easy to tie up however I want for PE.

Messy buns are a favourite of mine because all I need is a bobble. Basically I tie it up in a pony and then pull it through to a bun. Use the hair that hasn't been pulled through to go over the top of that bun you've just made and tie a bobble around it again. Practise it a few times... it should be easier the more you do it.

Or if I have time in a morning I use a doughnut bun shaper. They look like this:

You can get them in different colours to match your hair tone. You just tie your hair into a pony again, pull it through the centre and either grip the hair piece by piece round the net, or pull a bobble over it and grip the loose ends.
To get something a little like this:

I hope this helps a little bit

Good luck dear <3

Some of the photos Barbara posted don't seem too safe for a chemistry class if you're planning on using the burner.

I do a bun kinda like this but with bobby pins instead of the headbands to hold my bangs back.

Braids will keep the hair outta your face.

@Charli - how do you use that syler thing? I've never seen one?
