I know this isn't anything fancy but one fail safe hairstyle I do is the half-ponytail.

Basically just put the front half of your hair back in a ponytail. Letting most of your hair that is naturally behind your ears stay flat.

Though, to make it fancier you can curl your hair once you have the half ponytail. If you have bangs, swipe them to the side, keeping them straight and the rest of your hair curled (even just wavy rather than straight) and it looks like a fancy up-do.

Googling "half ponytail" through Images gets you a lot of really pretty clear ideas of how this looks.
Also, if you don't have a curling iron then immediately after showering, take your hands and curl your hair into your fist. Occasionally push handfuls UP toward your head. This gives you a natural curl.

So you have gray hair and you're only 26

that's just another reason I love you...

If you know how to french braid, you can do a fancy curled ponytail with the bottom half french braided up to the ponytail

I've found the one who completes me.
This love is like nothing I've ever felt before. <3

They don't come with instructions, but if you go on Google Images there are lots of pictures of up-dos.

For instructions, check out Youtube. A lot of girls post 'how-to' videos for hair and make-up on there. I'm sure you will find something.

I love the messy bun. I'm in love with it and you can make it look really great.

You can leave your fringe down, and some bits at the side. Curl these side bits and hairspray them. It looks gorgeous.
Or you could even quiff your fringe.

And messy buns are so simple to do.

You could also try plaiting the front bits of your hair and pulling them back and securing them there whilst curling the rest of your hair.

Another thing you could try is a tight bun. These can look great if you want a tight and sleek bun. And you don't need anything but grips/bobby pins and a bun net like this:

It should turn out like this:

I hope this helps.
