Preventing split ends? - October 28th 2011, 06:33 AM

How do you prevent split ends from occurring so often?

I haven't been wearing my hair up all that often, I rarely straighten/curl my hair and when I do I use a heat protection, I don't use any extra hair products like hairspray/gel/etc, and I get my hair trimmed every month or so.

I just got my hair trimmed less than a month ago, and my hair already has a lot of split ends, and I don't know why. ):

I always put in a split end protector after showering and so for its worked wonders. I used to use Herbal Essences Split End Protector, but I ran out and couldn't find it again in stores. So now I'm using Aussie's brand. Both products smell lovely and definitely keep my hair from splitting. Trim off any split ends you see, and make sure you are using a good moisturizing conditioner. Your hair may be dry which is what is causing it to split.

And here you are living, despite it all.

Maybe the product that you are using are not good enough, I recommend you the hair product that I use to keep my hair healthy and split ends free. It's Pro Naturals Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment with Heat Protector which protects your hair from any damage, keeps it healthy, soft and resilient, strengthens the hair so it prevent split ends and reduces the frizz. It's totally worth it !

I use leave-in conditioners & I make sure to cut the split ends off once in a while & so far my hair is a lot healthier with few split ends.

i use herbal essences split end protector. i think its in the long term relationships name- little red bottle. and also coconut oil by organix and it seems to work pretty well for me.

- also if you use a hair dryer/straightener a heat protector is essential. it will save your hair a lot of damage.

Another thing I'd say is make sure you're not brushing your hair when it's wet. I also think it's best to not comb it when it's wet, but if you have to then use a wide-tooth comb. Also, if you're coloring your hair or highlighting, it's going to take a toll on your hair's health.

Try using a shampoo that's designed to treat split ends. Something like Herbal Essences or TRESemmé should help a little. Also when you tie it up try not to use elastic bands or anything that will pull on your hair.
Hope this helped <3
