Nose ring? - May 14th 2009, 09:40 PM

I've been wanting a nosering for a while now.
I really want one but am scared as heckkk.
The only piercings I have are my ears.
I'm scared that it'll hurt (yeah I know they numb it). Idk,I'm just terrified of it hurting really bad.
and I'm terrified of seeing it go through my nose.
Just thinking about it gives me the shivers and makes my stomach queasy.
Can anyone thats had it done tell me what its like and stuff?
I'd really like that

Heres a picture:

I think it would look good on me.
So opinions aren't really needed, but if you think otherwise (as in, it would look bad),you can say so.
What nostril should I get it in?
Opposite or the same side as my one dimple? (my dimple is on my right, you can't see it in the above picture much)
haha.

So i've been watching videos on youtube of people getting it done, and it doesn't look as bad.
Do not all places numb it?

Re: Nose ring? - May 14th 2009, 09:57 PM

I think it would look great. Get it on your left.
Pain shouldn't put you off. It's only a quick pinch and it's done.
Worth it.
Close your eyes, count to ten and it'll be over.

You'll feel pressure, a sudden shooting pain, a tug when they put the stud in and a slight burning sensation after, but it's bearable.

Good luck

First: Wow, you're extremely pretty! :]
Second: I've never had my nose pierced, but I don't think you should worry about it hurting to much. Like you said, they do numb it, and it's over with in no time. Plus it's worth it in the end, because it will look awesome.
Third: I think it would look best on the left side, but that's just my opinion Either side will look good.

You look way too cute and innocent for a nose ring. Get a stud if you get one though, that might look cute. I don't think a ring would suit you.

I'm considering getting five holes done in each of my ears, I already have 4. I already have my first tattoo picked out. And my lip is already done. I LOVE my lip ring.

My mom has 3 holes in her ears. I have one in each. haha. I like only one in each ear.
Yeah,I've got all 4 picked out. But I've got my number 1 to get, in case it hurts to bad to not get any others. hah.
Thats awesome. I love lip rings on people. I've been told to get one,but they're not for me.

So I just told my boyfriend that I'm getting my nose peirced and his response was "omg really!?!?!?" hahaha. I just pictured him saying that in a high pitched voice and it was hilarious.

Just thought I'd share that.

Well, make sure when you get your tattoos, that they are 100% unique. There are WAY too many people with flowers, dragons, fairies, animals, hearts, starts... You know?

Actually, I think a small ring would look super cute on you. Like a really thin one. Or a tiny stud.

Go for it, though. It'll hurt a bit but should be worth it. Most anyone looks good with nose piercings, in my opinion.

omg you're so pretty!!! And you will look great with it done
also, not all places numb it, mine didn't, but it really isn't that bad.... sure it hurts, but nothing you can't handle. the most painful part is if you get the nose ring snagged on your bedding at night while you sleep and it gets yanked, lol.
good luck, hun!!!

I agree with Jessie, I think a ring would look really, really good on you! Unlike most people I think right side. Well when I look at the picture my left. Which would be your right....
By the way you are super pretty! Your freckles are super cute!

Re: Nose ring? - May 15th 2009, 05:24 AM

I think a little diamond would look cute on you

I have both sides of my nose done. First one I had done was in.. October? They didn't numb it. Cleaned the area, put the receiver up my nose and stuck the needle through. Didn't hurt, really just a pinch, though it did burn a little bit after [not a painful burn, just a burn].
The second side of my nose I've had for I think almost a month now. I have to say, compared to the first time this one HURT. Same parlor as before, same procedure, same piercer. I had seconds in my lobes done that visit as well, they hurt a lot too. Buuuut I will say, I had my seconds done before and they didn't hurt as much the first time either so I think I was just sensitive to pain that day. So if you're sensitive to pain, it might hurt a bit. If you're at a normal pain tolerance, you'll be fine.

BEST ADVICE FOR A NEW PIERCING: AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS. A couple days after my piercing I rubbed at my nose, forgetting about the piercing and ripped the jewelry out of the hole :x The jewelry was a corkscrew, not just a stud, so it had to get around a harsh angle to come out and HURT. So yeah, avoid coming anywhere near the piercing aside from with cleaners

Re: Nose ring? - May 15th 2009, 07:28 PM

I'm not sure if they do numb it? None of my piercings have been numbed. But I live in England. They use a gun here to do it, and although this made it quicker, it felt like I'd been punched in the face...all 4 times I had it done. (They use a gun to do as little damage to the cartilage as possible)

I think if you go for it, maybe a stud would look better? They'll put a stud in at first anyway, so you can then decide if you want to change it to a ring or not. I think it would look best on your right.
Good luck if you go for it

I agree, a nose piercing would look lovely on you
I haven't had my nose done yet but if it's anything like other piercings, the pain of infection or ripping it out is worse than actually getting it pierced
You'll be fine though, if you take care of it =]

Well some advice.
When you sleep, to make sure it doesn't come flying out. Like it did mine on like the second day I got it. My mom started cutting band aids up and put them on my nose to cover it. But she made ABSOLUTELY sure that the white part was covering my nose and only the white part.

Hey,
I have my nose pierced, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! I am SUCH a wuss when it comes to piercings, even though I have 16 of them. I was incredibly scared to get my nose done, but it really wasn't that bad! They usually walk you through everything they're going to do before they do anything to make sure that you are comfortable and ready.
What they do first, is they pinch your nostril with their fingers, to make sure it's the right size. Then they clean your nose with these alcohol wipes. Then they make a dot on your nostril, where you want the piercing to be, and they double-check with you to make sure that it's accurate. Then they take out the piercing gun and count to 3, and then pierce the hole. Then they have to put the nosering in. It doesn't hurt *that* bad, but it really bleeds alot. It's usually over within a couple of minutes, so it's not too horrible. Good luck if you decide to get it done! Be sure to post pictures!

you *really* shouldn't get it done with a gun, its unsanitary and it forces a pretty dull point thought your skin, which cause bruising and tearing and a lot more trauma to your tissues. go to a proper tattoo/piercing parlor and get it done with a needle.

The nose ring would look really cute on you. You should get it on your left nostril.
And, don't let the pain keep you from getting it. It really is a quick pinch. As for the not wanting to watch it, close your eyes. Most piercing shops let you bring a teddy bear or small stuffed animal that you can squeeze. But, remember: It'll only hurt for a second, then it'll look good for years. I think the quick pinch would be worth it.

If there are piercing places that do it with a gun, (I haven't heard of one yet) Don't get it with a gun. Guns cannot be sanitized properly, and you never know if it even was sanitized! When I get stuck, I like to watch them open the needle in front of me, so I know it's sanitary. I would ALWAYS go with needles, it's a guaranteed sanitation.

I had mine numbed but do check out the place where ur going to get it done just incase they dont use numbing agent.

I have to be careful with mine cause I tend to forget about it and catch it, it comes half out and is a pain to get back in again.
