where to get my first tattoo
 

so, once i'm in a better spot, i want to get a tattoo that reminds me of how healthy i can be. it's going to be my confirmation cross and a butterfly from a necklace that my mom gave me when i got out of the hospital. they're both going to be really small, but i can't figure out where i want to get them.

i thought maybe on my inner wrist b/c i'm a recovering self-harmer so that would have a lot of meaning. any advice?

yeah the inner wrist would be really pretty. its also not that noticeable surprisingly. I have "Love" with a small heart next to it on my wrist and not many people see it. I got it as a very personal thing as well. I think those are the best kinds of tattoos to get. Something though that you need to take into account about getting a tattoo on your wrist, since you are recovering from SH, the scars may prevent the tattoo artist from being about to put the tattoo in certain areas. I mean if the scars arent bad, you dont need to worry, but if they are- it may cause issues. Thats something that the tattoo artist would tell you though. Also when you do get the tattoo, it might bring back the feelings of SH and wants to SH. That is what I experienced and so did 2 of my friends who also used to SH. So thats just something that you are going to want to be aware of before you go so that you are prepared to deal with any of those thoughts that you might get and all. But other than that- the ideas that you have sounds wonderful and getting them on your wrist would be very meaningful. I think you should do it.
