Re: Tattoos over scar tissue.. anything you should know? -

I think the idea of the shooting star flames is a great idea. Another idea is you could get a tattoo of something that helped you stay strong and that helped you through your struggle.
As far as it covering up the scars, I would talk to your tattoo artist about it because they would know better if it would work and if it would look good. I have a scar from surgery on my ankle and I got a tattoo around the area and a little bit actually went over the scar tissue and I will say when it was being done it hurt like hell going over the scar tissue. So I would talk to your artist and see what they recommend. If it isn't a lot of scar tissue or if its thin scar tissue I don't see it hurting too much I guess. Mine was thick. Always remember to put your happiness first.

It depends on the type of scar if they can tattoo over it or not. If it isn't thick and really raised they should be able to go over it. (A friend just had a tattoo done on her wrist and part was over a scar. It held up really well) The issue is with the scar tissue holding the ink. A lot of times it will push out the ink resulting in splotches. So you need to take really good care of these ones especially during the healing process. So I would recommend talking to the artist and have them take a look to see if they can actually tattoo over them.

i agree with this but i think you should deffinately think about getting a tattoo of something to symoblize how that time in your life made you stronger perhaps? just an idea ![]() The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. PM me if you need to talk about ANYTHING. ![]() |
