earring help!! - October 12th 2010, 07:27 PM

I really need some advice, asap.. basically.

So i have the cartilage at the top of my ear pierced.
It doesn't hurt unless i pull on the back part of the earring, but heres the thing
i cant even feel the stone on the front part of my ear, its going all the way through my ear.
There's stuff on the back part of the earring that grosses me out (probably from lack of keeping it clean?)

I can't seem to pull the back part of the earring off? Its hard to get off.

I hope this made sense?! Help?

hey there. it sounds like the stud front of your earring is starting the embed in the skin a little. i'd say its a good idea to take the stud out to let it heal. try pulling the stud off of the front of your ear, while pulling the back off at the same time...hope that makes sense. make sure you keep it clean too.

It sounds like the back part of your piercing has been covered with gunk (from not cleaning it!) or it could be overgrown skin, so get someone to check that out! There is some sort of solution that you should wash piercings in to keep them clean, which you could buy. But I think there is something that you can make at home (give it a google) to wash things in. Once you get the solution, wash it over the whole piercing, and try to be able to turn the back of the piercing, and if you need to, try to pick/wash off the gunk that is covering it. Once you've done that, remove it to see what state your ear is in.

Maybe just removing it and putting it back in should fix the problem. But if it doesn't fix it, speak to your piercer.

For someone who doesn't have any piercings I think I did good! I hope it works, take care!

When I got my cartilage pierced, I took excellent care of it, but because of a slight metal allergy in my blood, the skin started to heal over the piercing.

I ended up having to get it cut out by a doctor.
