super sore tattoo???

i recently got a new tattoo that stretches from the inside of my hip to the bottom of my shoulder blade. i got it monday night, and its thursday and super sore. i've been doing everything i know to do (wash twice a day with unscented hand soap, then unscented hand lotion) and its crazy sore-is this normal???

Oh absolutely. Part of it's on your ribs, right? If so, it's going to hurt like hell for almost a week lol

oh yeah. ug, i had it done monday in hopes that by the time i go home tomorrow it'd b mostly healed since i'm hiding it from my family, but this is def not how it's playing out lol

Is the 'wound' sore, or is your body sore? Like Myss said, it could be your ribs that are hurting because it was done over them. Or it could be your actual tattoo that hurts a bit. Either one is definitely normal. It will be sore for a few days, but you're doing well to take care of it.

It it doesn't go away after a week or so, maybe speak to your doctor about it. Just incase there's an infection or anything.

hey, all of my tattoos were sore for at least a week after i got them. didn't matter how big or small or where i got them on my body. i have my ribs done too.

That is totally normal for it to be as the above posters have said. Make sure you are taking care of it like you were told to. If it doesn't resolve in about a week or so, I would either head to your tatoo artist or your doctor to make sure everything is okay.

I got my ribs done last Friday, they stopped hurting yesterday. So it took about a week for me.

Same Myss, I had my ribs done and it took about 8 days for them to stop hurting, hell i walked funny for that entire week. Try sleeping on your side that the tattoo isnt on to help it be less sore if possible
