Monroe... - November 17th 2010, 01:52 AM

Okay...so basically I have an actual "Monroe" as in I have a beauty mark in the area in where you'd have a Monroe piercing. My beauty mark is kind of big and annoying, and I get teased a lot because of it. But that's not the reason I want a Monroe piercing. I don't like it to begin with anyways (when I was growing up even before kids would pick on me, I always just wanted to cut it off) Will It harm me If I put a piercing over a big beauty mark? It's not big, It just pops out a lot.
And, If I decide I don't like it, and I take it out what will happen to my beauty mark?

Is your beauty mark a mole? If so, then you can't pierce it.

If it is a freckle/hyperpigmentation, then you can pierce it. If you take it out, it will most likely leave a scar.

Have you considered getting the mole removed, rather than trying to cover it up?

That was what I originally wanted, but If I'm correct that's a lot of money. So the whole piercing thing was like a back up.

USA has no NHS.

To be honest I wouldn't get it removed. I have a monroe mole too.... anyway I've just had an abnormal mole-like growth removed on my arm and i'm going to be left with a 2/3 inch scar because of it.

I'd prefer the mole on my face rather than the scar.

Honestly, I'd rather the scar. I know that seems weird but It's how I feel.

I really wouldnt. I not have a dip in my arm... so it looks weird. Would you rather have a slightly disfigured face (because of where it is situated) and a scar?

Wait, I'm confused. Disfigured?

And I'm sure over time the scar will heal and you can put scar cream on it. I already have dips and "dents" like things on my forehead, that's why I wouldn't care If there was one above my lip because I already have a bunch.

yes, at the moment my arm has a severe dip in it due to them removing the mole.

it will be more noticeable on the face.

You can get the top of it removed but if your mole is anything like mine and a darker skin tone, then you will still be left with a dark mark on your face.

If you look at mine closely It's this very raised bump, It basically looks like a really big sticking out pimple. But in the middle the skin tone of it is brown.
Just curious, but how much did it cost to get yours removed? Well, i'd rather have a dark mark then a raised, pimple like beauty mark. :/

I have the same as you, a very raised bump which is darker in colour. Since I'm in the UK it didnt cost me anything as it was on the NHS.

Go to a dermatologist and see what they say about it and they can give you a general cost for it.
