Tongue piercing - January 29th 2011, 06:07 PM

I've considered getting my tongue pierced. However, I would imagine that having metal in mouth to go to sleep would bug me like crazy.

To people who have gotten their tongues pierced:

Does it bother you when you sleep?

If it fell out in your sleep, would the hole be closed up by morning?

Plus, I asked my mom if I could get one and she's like "It could fall out in your sleep and you could choke on it."
Is she being serious or is she making that up lol?

Re: Tongue piercing - January 30th 2011, 04:03 AM

I've had mine done for about 4 years and it has only fallen out when I've been eating due to the fact it wasn't tightened enough. Though it was only the top ball that fell off, the bar stayed in the piercing.
It has never bothered me when I sleep, the only think new I noticed about it was that I kinda had to learn how to spit [when brushing my teeth] and swallow again. It's a little odd when there's a bar through your tongue

It depends how long you've had the piercing in for, but I had mine out for around an hour about 3 months after it was pierced and it had started to close, so I would just make sure it's really tight to avoid this issue [:

I have two, and I always forget they're even there lol they just become part of your body. You'll be aware of it after you first had it done, but once you've had a small bar put in there is a biiig difference.
Yeah, I took mine out once and it healed up within half an hour I vowed never to take it out ever again
Always make sure your ball is on tight, I find that my balls dont get loose very often, and by often I'm talking like, never! lol

Dont worry and have fun
