Idea trouble..

Today I thought of getting a guardian angel on the back of my shoulder.. I ran the idea past my boyfriend, and he said that it's not a very original idea. I guess he's right, but I don't know what I could get that's along the same lines as a guardian angel, but more original.

Does anyone have any ideas? All input will be greatly appreciated

I saw this thread earlier and I did plan to respond to it. I saw it when I about to leave to go somewhere, so I decided I would respond to it later.
First off, does getting a guardian angel mean something to you? Or do you want it because other people have it?

Second, you can definitely customize the colors and the design to make it totally unique. You could add in some words and things like that.

I've never even seen anyone who has a guardian angel tattoo lol.

I wanted it as like a memorial to my Grandma and my Uncle.

If it's meaningful to you then I don't think it should matter that it's not fully original

By trying to make something more original you might just lose the meaning behind and then what's the point in even getting it done?

Perhaps you could customise it with the names of your Grandma and Uncle? Or add in something else that reminds you of them?

Take in a few designs/ ideas/ sketches/ other reference material similar to what you would like, and give them to the tattooist. I'm sure that they won't hesitate to sketch up something unique, although custom work may cost you a bit extra for the sketches You could always add some writing to to it, or instead of the guardian angel, get something completely different tattooed to commemorate your grandad. Make sure that you use a reputable artist, aswell, otherwise you might end up with a stick and lick, 2-dimensional looking thing. Good luck!
