Hey Amanda,
If you can't obtain a piercing needle, then you shouldn't pierce any part of your body. When you pierce yourself, you are risking infection, nerve damage (if you pierce your face), scarring, etc. It is especially dangerous to pierce yourself on any other place except your ear. It's not a very good idea to pierce any part of your body at all unless it is being done by a professional. To keep your piercings clean, sea salt is a really good cleanser to use. If you can't go to a professional, then you should wait until you are 18 so that you can go to a professional. There are certain piercings that you may hear a "pop", but that is not true for every piercing. I hope this helped. Take care, Kitty. |

I'm not going to tell you where to get these supplies because you shouldn't pierce yourself. It's not safe to and you should go to a professional. I know you said you can't for whatever reasons, but only an experienced piercer with training should pierce you. It could possibly lead to complications if done incorrectly.
As for keeping it clean this is what my piercer recommends: sea salt solution is what you should use and do sea salt soaks twice a day until it's healed. make sure to keep it clean and if gunk builds up on it clean it gently with a q-tip. If it's an oral piercing like lip, tongue, use mouthwash to rinse your mouth along with the sea salt soaks. And as for the popping noise, I've never heard it while being pierced but I know some people who have. |

I made the mistake of piercing myself a few times. The worst thing about it is the risk of infection. The ones in my ears got infected easily, and a few of them got so swollen and painful.. that it bled daily until I finally took it out to let them close.
My friend also did her own lip, and now the scarring is terrible. Trust me. Get it professionally done. They know what they're doing. It's better to put out the money than do it by yourself. "Although only breath, words which I command are immortal." Sappho

Most people I know use safety pins. You can get needles for it from websites that sell jewelry. I really really recommend getting a needle made for piercing, a hollow one is best.
Boil water and put the needle in to sterilize it. Take some ice and numb whatever you are going to pierce. If you can, put something hard like an apple to stop the needle once its gone through your skin. Then pierce it. Leave the needle in for a minute or two, then take it out and quickly put the jewelry in. You've got some options on keeping it clean. You can either do sea salt soaks or you can go get Bactine which is what i use. Bactine helps piercings heal faster and fights risk for infection. Why can't you go to a professional if you don't mind me asking. And yes, you will hear a pop sound. Doing it yourself runs a lot more risks then getting it professionally done. I know its cheaper, but its way better in the long run. ![]() Buddy|Live Help Operator|HelpLink Mentor|Social Networking Team Relationships&Dating Mod|Lifestyle Mod|Media&Entertainment Mod Performance Committee |

I'm assuming you're still pregnant, so this is still a really bad idea...

For the popping noise, it depends on what you're trying to pierce.

If she doesn't care if you get one, save up money and pay to get one done by a professional. They're usually around $40 which is pretty decent and average for a good piercer. Also said previously, with you being pregnant you need to wait to get the piercing anyway. All of the piercers I know and the ones at my shop wouldn't pierce someone who's pregnant because of risks.
