What to expect with a snug and conch piercing? -
April 1st 2011, 05:46 PM
My parents agreed I can get a snug and conch piercing as soon as soccer ends. I'm getting the snug in one ear and the conch in the other. I'm going to go to a professional piercing place for the first time. I have three lobe piercings on one ear and two on the other, so I've had piercings, but not from a professional. I'm honestly just wondering what Ican expect for the whole process, pre-piercing, piercing, and post-piercing.
"Love me for me, accept the fact I'm true, live like I want, fufill my dreams, Dream of me, run out free, capture your words and never let them go." I'll see you on the other side. |

Hey,
I've had piercings from a professional before, so I'll kind of outline the process for you. -When you get there, they may want your birth certificate so you should bring that just in case. (I don't know if all places want to see a birth certificate, but the places near me do.) -Since your getting ear piercings, it's best to go ahead and put your hair up before you get there. -Then, they will clean the area to be pierced with alcohol and mark it. -After that, they will most likely give you your choice of a hoop or a barbell. I personally like the barbells best, but that's just me. -When they are about to pierce you, they may have you take a deep breath and let it out or they may just continue carrying on a conversation with you while piercing you. It depends on the piercer.-For healing, they will most likely recommend a sea salt solution or a product like Bactine. Something to watch out for: If the piercing needles are not brand-new or have not been through an autoclave, do not get any piercings there. For pain levels, my piercer said that the conch piercing is not really painful at all. I don't know about the snug piercing, but it shouldn't be any worse than a cartilage piercing. Since you are getting a piercing on each ear, it may be uncomfortable to sleep if you sleep on one side or the other. I think that's about all. ![]() Good luck with your piercings. I would love to see pictures when they are finished. |
