Wrist tattoo -
July 2nd 2011, 10:34 AM
So I really want to get one, and I've always wanted a memory of my grandma on a tattoo ... I've settled on getting "Tot ziens (and a tiny heart)" on my left wrist. My grandma never used to say goodbye, but she would say "tot ziens" - she was Flemish and in Flemish it means "see you again". I was very close to her and it's on her gravestone etc etc so it's pretty important to me.
How do I break the news to my dear old mother who hates tattoos? I know her main arguement will be that my grandma didn't like them, so honoring her with one is stupid, but it's my way of remembering her ... Also, honestly how painful are wrist tattoos? It'll only be quite small and in kind of loopy cursive thin font ... You can't move mountains by whispering at them. Take a look at my art here: http://attemptedart.tumblr.com/ |

Well I would tell your mom that it's your decision and that's how you want to honor your Grandmother. (I'm sorry about her passing by the way)
As for the pain, my aunt got one and said it wasn't that bad compared to any of her other tattoos, just that it hurt a little bit more because that area is kind of sensitive. <3 "yes maddie you are way better than "that great" you are amazing and sweet and i love you so much" <3

I think you should be careful about wrist tattoos because some places don't like you to have tattoos that are visible, so you could potentially screw yourself out of a job.
As for your mother, I don't know how to help you because my parents don't know about any of my 3 tattoos because my mother said she'd kick me out of the house. ![]() I've found the one who completes me. This love is like nothing I've ever felt before. <3 |

I have a wrist tattoo on my left wrist and my grandma(who i live with) HATES tattoos with a passion told me that I could get the tattoo because it was small and not that noticeable. So I would say draw the tattoo out and show it to your mom and see what she says.
As for the pain I do not have a high pain threshold(or whatever) but when i get my tattoo done it didn't hurt that much I honestly only cussed twice and that is really good for me. I cant handle pain all that much but it wasn't that bad at all. I hope it works out for you and you can get it let us know what your mom says and if you do get it make sure to show us pictures As the smoke clears
I awaken, and untangle you from me Would it make you, feel better to watch me while I bleed? All my windows, still are broken But I'm standing on my feet LOVE=LOVE NO MATTER WHAT |

I'm not too worried about coering it up, I plan on getting it in quite small writing so I can wear bracelets / a watch to hide it. I plan on going into education, and it is useful to have a watch for that anyway.
I don't think she'd go to the extreme of kicking me out. When my dad got one last year she didn't talk to him for about 3 weeks ... I'll try explaining it to her though
