Hip piercings - December 28th 2011, 04:18 AM

Does anybody here have hip piercings or knows somebody with them that can tell me some info about them. Do your jeans irritate them? How do you care for them? That kind of stuff. I googled a bit, but I got the vary wide range of "Easy to do" or "Will ruin your life" and I kind of wanted to get an opinion from people I trust, and why not just ask for the heck of it. So, anybody gots dem?

I don't personally have them, but I know someone who does. Just be really careful for the first week or so, because they can get irritated fast. Try to wear looser clothes too. Her skin was slightly irritated for a while, of course. But, it got better. If you want them, go for them.

I don't have them either, but I think you'd have to wear loose pants for the first week or so because your jeans might hurt them while they're new. Afterward though, I think it would be fine because hip piercings usually are dermals, which is where they make a pocket and use an L shaped jewlery to keep it from coming out. So I don't think your jeans will irritate it too much.

Re: Hip piercings - December 28th 2011, 06:40 PM

i've had them before. when i did, i had them done with surface bars. wish i had gotten microdermal implants though. you should research that, the implants have a lower chance of rejection...

anyways. the piercing itself was pretty painless. the aftercare wasn't too bad, my jeans didn't rub. but i did have to wear looser tshirts just so it wouldn't get snagged on that. i kept them only a few months, at the time i did gymnastics and i'd hit the piercings all the time and that would make them sore.

Hip piercing are super cute, but the truth is they are micodermals, not just a piercing... They get irritated super easily and hurt like a bitch, but I think theyre worth it. I ding have any, I got tattoos instead. But I researched it a lot. Just take care of them EXACTLY how the piercer tells you, theyre the expert after all. Wear loose clothing, clean a lot, avoid contact for awhile and youre good.

Take me seriously.
I dare you.

As others have said, wearing loose clothing & taking care of the piercings like they tell you to should result in wonderful piercings.

Just be careful though. I heard they DO get irritated quickly, and make sure they don't use fake jewelry. I've heard of a lot of people get allergic reactions (including myself) when they wear jewelry that's fake.

Other than that, I think microdermals would look totally cute on you, so if you want them, go for it! Make sure to post pictures too :P

I have never had Hip piercings and probably won't ever get them as I'm scared of them ruining my hip tattoo (the look of it anyway).
What I will say is make sure if you do get them, you wear comfortable clothing as I have had something similar (a microdermal on my chest) and clothes banging against that kind of thing can be uncomfortable and affect healing. If you get them done, good luck

One more thing to be aware of is the removal process. It may leave a scar, and getting the implants out can be painful, from what I've heard. You could search around Youtube for the process of getting it done, and you should look up getting them removed as well.
As Kady said, implants have a lower rejection rate than surface bars so if you do decide to get it done, go with the implants.
