The tattoo should only take somewhere in the ballpark of 20 minutes or so, I'd think.

I've found the one who completes me.

The pain isn't bad! It feels like someone is poking you with the tip of a ball point pen. I was terrified of how bad it would hurt but it didn't hurt at all and I still felt silly. Although I did have to hold my friends hand for support!! But Maloo is right, the tattoo shouldn't take too long. Mine (peace sign, heart and a smiley face) only took 25 minutes and it was colored and shaded.)

Out of all of my friends none of their lips swelled up really bad. Just make sure you do everything the piercer tells you to do when taking care of it!

I'll love you forever

It depends on the artist. Something like that should only take one visit, probably lasting about ten to twenty minutes.

As far as the lip piercing, I'm not going to lie, it does hurt and it is possible it might swell. If you really have to have one, as with everything, pain is only temporary. Put ice on your mouth, and don't eat lots of spicy things.

Knowledge is half the battle.

Its easier said that done BUT most of the great things wouldn't have ever been done if they hadn't been said first.

Re: getting a tattoo! - January 12th 2012, 05:15 PM

I'm going to disagree with some of the others.

As far as the tattoo goes, it shouldn't take so long. I have a tie-dyed peace sign on my hip which only took about 30 minutes. A simple wrist tattoo should last anywhere from 10-20 minutes.

Now, this goes for BOTH the tattoo and lip piercing. I can't tell you (and neither can anyone else) if it's going to hurt or swell. Everyone's pain tolerance is difference, and how our bodies react to it. When I got my belly button pierced, it hurt. But, when my friend got hers done, she felt next to nothing. It all depends on the person, and how your body reacts to physical pain. Swelling may occur, it might be inevitable. But, how badly it swells also depends on YOUR body. When I got my tongue pierced, I only experienced some swelling (no pain whatsoever on my end). When my sister had hers done a few years back, she couldn't even move her tongue or open her mouth to talk. So, as you can see, pain tolerances are all different.

The pain really depends on the person. I myself, and very terrified of pain, but I'm coming to realize that my pain tolerance is actually very high. I got my hip done, one of the most painful places, and it barely hurt at all. Nothing that wasn't worth it. As for swelling, I think it's unlikely, but possible. If it does swell, it wont last long, or swell up much. So I'd get it done maybe Friday or Saturday just in case.

Take me seriously.
I dare you.
