I had a group selection for Asda yesterday and have been called back for an interview tomorrow! If I get this then I can stay in Aberdeen for the summer and this will carry on into term time which is great. I don't really want to have to go home for the whole summer to work, as we'd all get annoyed at each other. Plus I found it hard getting a job last year and don't want to be stuck in that boat
A tip I would give is that when you don't have job try doing some volunteer work
It may take up your time, but it will look good on your CV
What employers want is experience
I remember this story when this girl wanted to be a nurse, she went through her education with flying colours but was refused a job because she hadn't done any volunteer work whilst training.
Life is a waterfall,
we're one in the river,
and one again after the fall.
We drink from the river,
then we turn around and put up our walls.
When you lose small mind,
you free your life.
When you free your eyes,
Yeah, I need to get some volunteer work anyway for getting into postgrad, so have a few years. I hope I get this as they seem keen, yet nobody else will employ me as I don't have customer experience! I got turned down for an admin job for this pure reason.
Planning on doing more fundraising for a charity which is close to me. I contacted Samaritans and they haven't got back to me.
18.5 hour contract but going to take lots of overtime over the summer to allow me to save up some money. If all goes to plan it means i can live without using my loan for next year, so I could just put that back into my savings account as back up
