First time walking. -

I had my right leg shortened and rotated on July 21st and been on crutches since. Monday, my doctor told me, when ever I feel comfortable, I can try walking without any crutches. You would think after 3 leg surgeries I'd feel comfortable. I really didn't think I would be okay with out going to PT first. Then in 2 weeks, he wants me completely off them, or try to.
I just walked without my crutches from the living room to the kitchen (not too far). It felt really good and it's progress. It will take awhile to walk normally and to feel okay again, though. Learning to walk all over again is hard to do, your foot has to be pointed in the right direction, knees can't lock, etc. Just now, I wobbled. lol. First time walking since July 21! But it feels great honestly, one step closer to being healed. xx |

I bet it's a wonderful feeling. Congrats on being able to walk even the slightest bit. Good luck on the rest of your recovery!

Congratulations! I know someone who's had 3 surgeries on her legs, so she's had to re-learn how to walk each time. I can't even imagine how hard that's got to be. Congrats on your progress
