Many things have been happening, all of which are amazing!
First off, I got a role in Footloose! =D It's a chorus role, I'm in the church choir, but it's a role and over half of the kids who auditioned didn't get cast. My best friend wasn't cast though. =( Second, this is the most exciting thing that has ever happened and it'll probably stay that way for a long time. I've wanted to post something, but it wasn't for sure and I didn't want to say until I knew. A few weeks ago someone who works in the White House contacted my choir director, he told her that he was given a CD of our choir and asked if we would come down to sing for their Holiday tours to represent Ohio! We were told about 6 or 7 weeks in advance, but they couldn't just ask for every family to pay $300 right around Christmas time, so they asked for $50 and we used fundraisers to get the rest. Different choirs and orchestras we've sung with, companies that we've sung for, individuals and restaurants donated $8,000 in total. Our fundraisers raised about $1,000, they were going to ask everyone to pay $50 dollars, that would have gotten us to the $10,000 mark but before they told us, someone donated $2,000 so we have enough to go and enough to help pay for the World Choir Games in July. Our age range goes from 11 to 16, and we were picked over choirs of adults to represent Ohio. =) hear us sing! ![]() you will draw from the silence the things you ask strength, hope, and the courage to grow. ♥ |
