Smile Self-Image and the Beauty of Being A Woman - September 25th 2012, 01:37 AM

Hey girls. I know a lot of us suffer from a poor self-image and body issues.
I know a lot of us are insecure about our bodies, our weight, our height, our face/hair/curves.

But today's the day that we STOP all those little voices in our heads that say 'you're not good enough.'

We are worth it girls. We are beautiful. We are strong, and smart, and amazing.
Never ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

It's time to embrace your body and everything else that you are. Own it. Love it. Flaunt it ladies. Be who you are and never let anything take that away from you. Have confidence in every curve, every wave, every birth mark and scar and battle wound. Love everything that you are as a woman.
As women, we all have a very uniquely designed body. And inside and out, it's beautiful. We can do amazing things with our bodies. We can give birth. We can make a man's jaw drop WITHOUT shaking something in his face or taking off our clothes.

Flaunting your body and having confidence doesn't mean you have to be slutty or act slutty. It means being comfortable in your own skin and embracing the excellence that you are in anything you wear. Show them. Show everyone that nothing can bring you down. Because you're all beautiful, and smart and sexy and amazing. Every. Single. One. Of. You.

Being a woman is SUCH a beautiful thing. I'll say it again - Own it ladies. Love yourself and next time you look in the mirror, tell yourself you're beautiful. Because you are. No matter how tall you are, or skinny or not, or blonde or brunette or ginger; freckles, birth marks, stretch marks, crooked teeth. Who cares? It's all what makes you you.

So dance if it moves you,
and jump in the fire, if it burns you.
I'll throw my arms around you darlin',
and we'll turn to ashes.

Kinda like the way you tell me,
"Baby, please come home. I need you here right now.
I'm crying underwater so you don't hear the sound."

What if I can't forget you?
I'll burn your name into my throat.
I'll be the fire that'll catch you.
What's so good about picking up the pieces?

I love this, it's great and so nice and so true. Also I moved this to the General Forum because I thought it fit better there. But I really do love this.

Hey there.
I really love this! This is beautiful and something all of us girls need to hear every once in a while. I still struggle with self-image because--those of you that know me, know that I am very tall and very curvy :P But I liked this, it made me feel good.
Thank you for posting this!

Thanks gorgeous

I suffer from body image problems because all the girls around my area are dancers (I used to be one before I wrecked my knees and ankles) and they all are skinny as nails with abs. But, I'm curvy and larger, average height and I am really ashamed of having crooked teeth So thanks it helped me a bit.

Jay.

Thank you for this. It made me smile

It's so true. I do voluntary work with young girls and teenagers, and it's so sad to get them hung up over their body/looks, especially at such a young age. So it's great to read something like this.

I just want to add a little bit to this:

Instead of striving for a particular size or weight, strive to be healthy. Choose foods that make your body feel good (as opposed to your emotions), and do things that make you feel good about being you.

It's important to value yourself, and valuing your health is part of that. No matter what size, shape, or colour you are, health is attractive.

I really needed to hear this; I also suffer from some self-image issues mostly thanks to past bullying. I have dark rings under my eyes from my pale complexion and past insomnia problems, I have stretch marks, and a pudgy belly. I can't seem to believe my boyfriend when he tells me how beautiful I am. But this was really inspiring to read, thank you for making such a great thread.

I think its good. Its neccessary to feel aal girls are beautiful. Or whom you are proud on that but we come in the world for devlopment everytime. And its wrong to for this we don't do work means girls are good beautiful smart is true this thinking is good but every problem of life is solve by work for where we all come to this world not come for doing nothing for solve problem of girls.

Oh you're welcome sweetie. You are beautiful! I am so happy that you have someone to tell you how beautiful you are. And remember, someone doesn't love you because you're beautiful - you're beautiful because they love you.
Never ever forget that you are gorgeous, inside and out. Because you are. Own those 'imperfections' because they are what makes your outward appearance unique. So don't feel bad about yourself. And especially in regards to the bullying, screw them. They were just jealous of who you are. Because they knew that you are better and more beautiful than they'd ever be. So forget that. Move on and show them just how strong and confident you can be. You are gorgeous, Love.
