Smile The 40 day challenge - October 25th 2012, 12:22 PM

So, I've decided to start a challenge for myself and I am encouraging everyone to join in. For 40 days, starting tomorrow or today. (so it ends Dec 4th or 5th, I think) For 40 days, I am going to 'force' myself into an attitude or habit, that I want to have. For example, I am NOT a social person. So for 40 days, I am going to try to be more talkative and actually force myself into being outgoing. I am going to document the results. How I felt, how people reacted, what's the worst that happened and the best that happened.

I encourage you to do the same with something you struggle with. Be it lying, biting your nails, being optimistic, even thoughts of suicide. For 40 days, make a conscious effort to not do the things you have been doing. And after 40 days, lets see if our new attitude is a new habit or what. But you HAVE to commit to this. So for the 40 days, write a small report, good and bad days. Let's change our old ways!

Hi Kandi!

I think this is an awesome idea. I can't remember where I read it but somebody said once you do something for 30-40 days it does become a habit so hopefully this will work for you

I'm really not sure what I would try to change about me so I don't think I'll be trying this challenge out just yet but I'll keep it in mind for the future.

This sounds like a really good plan!

I promise for the next 40 days, I won't put myself down. If I find myself doing it, I'll look at some positive affirmations I have in my box

I really like this idea I will do it too I find it hard to talk to new people. Maybe I will try to talk to someone new everyday

Great plan! I'm going to try and be more outspoken and say when something bothers me instead of biting my tongue and making it worse for myself.
