Banned People Online o.O. - April 8th 2013, 09:32 PM

HEY GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !! . I have never been banned, I love you guys too much to be trolling on y'all . But usually being banned from a site means you can't log in and do anything right? LOL. I have sometimes seen people on the online section and they have their names crossed out and black, they are banned people but they on the site .

How is this phenomenon possible? .
Elaborate? .

I'm not 100% sure, however I believe they can log on, but can't post, can't do anything really. Kind of like when you look at the site from a guest's perspective.

I think when you see a banned person online it's likely that they were recently banned and haven't logged out yet. I don't think you can log in while banned but then again I've never been banned before so I don't know.

I think Barb is right about them basically being like a guest, but I could be wrong. Banned users still have access to HelpLINK and Live Help, so they'd have to be able to get on the site to get into them. I'm not sure if they can read threads or not, but they certainly can't post threads/blogs or go into Chat.

I was thinking along the same lines, they can't make posts, but they can look at threads and move around on the site, kind of like a guest/site ghost.

A ghost eh? Kinda like a rule breaking, trolling, advertising version of Casper .

Banned users can still log into TeenHelp, but they are limited on what they can do. As Louise said, they are still able to access HelpLINK and Live Help (although there have been times when we've had to ban them from those services as well). If banned users couldn't log in, then they wouldn't be able to submit a ban dispute to the Disputes Committee (you have to find the form when you log in). Also, when a member is banned, they receive a PM from the person who banned them (again, you can't view a PM unless you log in). Hope that clears things up! =)
