I'm sorry you had to see something so horrific.
It is really up to you what you do with the bird.
Some people would give it a special funeral and others would just throw it in the trash can.
Just do what you feel is right.

It's awful when that happens. It sucks that you had to see that!

You can either throw it out in the trash can, or bury it, like Jason said. I would avoid touching it with your bare hands, of course, because birds can carry disease. Use gloves, an inside-out plastic bag, or a shovel.

Aww I'm sorry. It sucks to see something like that... When a small bird was injured, I tried to take care of it but it was injured pretty badly and died. I buried it. To me, a bird is still a form of life so it deserves a proper burial. Not thrown in a trash can. Use gloves though, as Katelyn said, birds can carry diseases.

I agree with what was already said. Maybe you can give the bird a nice little burial and put a little flower there, or if you don't want to take the time to do that (which is fine!) you can just throw it out if you don't want to see it in your yard anymore. We had a bird in our yard once and my sister had to remove it before the dog ate it.

Just, as what was already said, make sure to wear gloves or use a shovel, and I think that you should probably wash your hands really good after just to be on the safe side!

Depending on how long it stays there, it might be taken away by nature- and by that I mean another animal. Your call- I'd probably just let nature deal with it but for the less heartless, I'd bury it.

As others have said, I think you should bury it. That's what happened when an injured bird died in my yard a couple years back. We buried it. I'm going to close this since I should hope you've handled that rather than having a dead bird sitting on your yard.

Feel free to PM me if you feel it should be reopened.
