Falling asleep whilst doing something else - October 6th 2015, 12:42 PM

Can you fall asleep watching TV/reading/whatever? I seriously cannot do it. I have never fallen asleep doing something else, not even when I was a kid. I could be exhausted but it's something I can't do.

I was just watching America's Worst Tattoos and the guy fell asleep WHILST having a tattoo How? It takes me about 30-40 minutes to fall asleep in bed and that's with Mirtazapine.

I suppose it's good in the sense that I know I would never sleep driving.

I often fall asleep watching tv, texting or using the computer if I am slightly tired.

I've only ever done that once or twice when I have been extremely tired. Otherwise, nope. But my mum falls asleep in front of the TV every night. And during my dad's illness, he even managed to fall asleep whilst eating or standing up

I've fallen asleep watching the telly or studying, sometimes when I've been on the phone too. Thankfully I can pay full attention when it is high risk in comparison

My most interesting falling asleep story was at Universal Islands of Adventure. I fell asleep on the Harry Potter ride on two separate occasions. I also fell asleep on the Kraken coaster at Seaworld, there was a few minute delay after being seated but my friends were kind enough to wake me before the drop...

I should also note that I've had chronic fatigue issues so I don't think it's a normal thing ha.

I can fall asleep with the TV on, but I'm just listening to it not watching it. I could never fall asleep reading. The only time I fall asleep on planes or travelling is when I'm exhausted and even then it takes me some time to get to sleep.

I usually fall asleep with my TV on, there have been a couple of times where I have fallen asleep while playing online on my Xbox 360 with my friend- one time I woke myself up because I was snoring.

Re: Falling asleep whilst doing something else - October 6th 2015, 11:20 PM

When I go to bed I am tired, like really really tired. I find that once I hit my bed I am out within minutes. Sometimes, I play a hand held game and I've fallen asleep while playing. Once I was in the middle of a text and my phone has fallen onto my face. then I roll over and go to sleep.

Some nights, I can't fall asleep no matter what, but I try to go as far as I can to tire myself out so I do fall asleep.

Lately, my dog sleeps with me and he hogs the bed, no matter what, I still sleep even with my feet almost on the floor or I am in a very uncomfortable position. When I am asleep I am out like a light till it's time to wake up, sometimes I do wake up during the night.

I can fall asleep listening to music or watching a show but it takes me a while to fall asleep anyways.

Re: Falling asleep whilst doing something else - October 7th 2015, 12:06 AM

Lucky you! I usually fall asleep if I'm extremely tired and I'm just laying on my bed on the laptop or my phone mostly because I feel so tired I can't resist so I just like pop my phone at the side of me or roll over if I'm on laptop and rest my eyes which turns into a few hours But I'm quite similar I can't fall asleep in places like if i'm traveling, or if I'm watching tv - can't stand sounds when trying to sleep aha! I can't listen to music and fall asleep, reading I tend do same with my phone - but then again that's still me deciding to take a nap, not just suddenly snoozing off unaware I also don't sleep if there is a tiny red, blue or green light in site - I literally have to hide it or I keep opening my eyes to look at it :'D

I have fallen asleep in many places:
-during classes.
-While listening to music.
-Reading.
-While in a call.
-In planes.
-Almost anywhere really.
I have never fallen asleep on a roller coaster though.

I've fallen asleep while on the phone, listening to music, and also while listening to a audio book. I've also fallen asleep while trying to do homework.
