EPAR..? - June 5th 2016, 06:50 AM

i've been thinking about possibly making a blog based on raising awareness about rape and the reality of a victim's aftermath.
i was thinking of calling it "EPAR" and the slogan thingy would say, "together we can turn rape around." i know it's horrible and cheesy but it's still just brainstorming, so let me know on a scale of 1-10 how cringeworthy that is. (and also, i'm a bit afraid that people will take that as "oh so we're gonna turn around and rape the rapists now??" also, on Urban Dictionary, epar means something like a joke or something... i only saw the summary from the google search page, as UD is blocked on my wifi. :') so i don't know for sure what they look at it as, but i don't want to use an internet joke for a serious blog..)

i wanted to find some sort of acronym thing that could fit with EPAR..
something like

Enabling People with Answers to Rape
or
Ending Prejudice About victims of Rape

but those don't really fit, nor do i think they exactly get the point across.

if you have any ideas for an acronym, please let me know!

besides that, are the any other names you think would be good to call it? i'm open to anything.
i was even thinking something like, "Raising Rape Awareness" would do, but i really don't know.

it won't happen for awhile, so i just want to get ideas now. thanks in advance, and let me know if this sounds stupid. i just felt like i had little to no helpful advice and support from online articles and such, and i want to offer that to future victims of rape -- because unfortunately, there will be many. :/

I think this is a great idea. And the slogan is cheesy, but in a nice way.
EPAR, maybe we could make it
Education, Prevention and Aftermath of Rape.

Or

Every person against Rape.

Do those sound good to you? This idea is awesome according to me.

rape backwards. So you can use the word without people knowing about it. Used as a humourous expression especially as a greeting. Or else reffering to a person or event that is funny in a grizly way. See rapist, definition as being a person with funny grizly sense of humour [this is the definition according to Urban Dictionary btw]

i really like Education, Prevention and Aftermath of Rape.
the one thing i would want to change is the "prevention" part, because that makes it seem like rape is something we have to strive to prevent from happening... kind of like how girls are told not to wear certain things or go out at a certain time of night. fact is, we shouldn't have to worry about preventing ourselves from getting raped... rapists should prevent themselves from raping people.

i don't know if there's another P word that could fit though... hm.

also, do you think the Urban Dictionary definition is enough to not call it EPAR, just to avoid getting joked about? or is it okay..?

Hmm, the definition on Urban can be ignored imo. No one I know really gives two shits about that.
With P, can we use Protection?
