Question help, family trip..... - June 14th 2009, 04:40 PM

Ok, I am in foster care and the family I am Staying with is going on a family trip and wants to bring me. The only problem is that I do not want to go...
Here are just a few reasons why....
1)The people we will be staying with for a week i do not know at all.
2)I am a bed-wetter and am embarrassed to go to someone else's house for a week.
3)I have never been fond of going out of state because of my past experiences.
What should I do?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

The best thing you can do is be completely honest with your foster family. Explain to them that you appreciate having them think about you enough to invite you to go with them but you don't feel comfortable going at this time.
If you don't want to go and you don't tell them this then you will end up having to go and then all that you listed will have to be dealt with and then you will have to just go through a worse time.
But at the same time if you really like this family you should try to go. It could be a chance to get to know some really great people and make new friends regardless of their age. If you have been staying with the family you have been staying with then I take it that they are aware of your bed wetting problem and if they are one they probably are going to take the measures they need to handle it or two you can tell them and ask them to do something to help while you are away. And as far as going out of state because of past experiences is kind of a mute point because it was your past and with other people, this is the future with a different family mot likely and it could be great and change your out look on your traveling.

Always remember to put your happiness first.
