Exclamation Moving out of state. [scared] - June 17th 2009, 07:38 PM

In two months I'll be moving to Kentucky from PA, and I'm really scared. All my friends, my music lessons, and my family are here!

My mom and dad have been divorced since I was very little, and his side of the family hates my mom. I live with her full time and we're moving to be closer to her family.

They're going to hate me when I move!

And how will I make friends??

Has anyone gone through this? What should I expect?

They are your family they will not hate you, they will love you. You don't need to worry about that.
I know moving around to a different state can be very difficult but it won't be so bad after a while. Making friends will probably be easier than you think. There could be kids your age in your neighborhood that you can hang out with. Then when school starts you will have endless possibilities because I assume you will start with the upcoming year because of the summer right now.

Always remember to put your happiness first.

They're not going to hate you for moving.
I've moved to different states before.. and right now I live in Oregon.. and my ENTIRE family lives in california lol.

It's hard but, since you're moving to be closer to your moms family you'll have family support once you're there.
As for making friends.. just be yourself and have a good time.. no one wants to hang out with a party pooper

Hey,

I doubt they will hate you. They are your family and if they truly care about you and love you they can't hate you! As for making friends just be yourself. You said yourself you have friends where you live right now so suffice to say there must be good things about you, things that people will like once they get to know you. So just be yourself.

Also. when you stary school join some clubs and what not and you should have no problems making friends that way either.

Hope this was somewhat helpful.

Thanks guys, but let me explain some more..
See my dads family is going to say I should move back with them, which I can't do. [My step mother emotionaly and verbally abused me]. But they hate my mom, and Its going to be so dramtic.

And I have a very alternative style, and I'm VERY shy. Most of the friends I have I've know since first grade, and we're VERY close. I'm so socially awkward when I'm nervous! Oh I don't know what to do! And my sister is staying here!
