Arrow How do you purge your emotions? - August 22nd 2009, 01:40 AM

Simple question enough, how do you handle your emotions? Some can stay quiet about it, some cry, while others channel their anger.

I'm the angry kind of guy all around. Rather than slow and depressing music, it's always angry head-banging. Once, when I was drunk I actually took a meter long ruler and started tearing the room apart with that - note, didn't hit anything that could break, thus everything was relatively in place afterwards. But, when I'm not drunk I punch the air and, when I can, something that can replicate a punching bag. Who's the target? Simple, my bastard father who'd rather run away leaving me for dead than be a Dad and due to that I was sent away. Yeah, I hate the guy. Kind of feel like a beast locked in a cage sometimes or a wolf, that's how primal it comes out.

So, I was just wondering how do you handle your emotions? What do you do?

I cry. A lot.

And when I can't cry or lean towards angry, I run or dance aggressively.

Sometimes when I'm alone in the house I scream my head off.

It's all good stuff.

You can lose yourself. Everything. All boundaries. All time.

And just when the sweet confusion is so intense you think you're gonna die... you kind of do.

Leaving you alone in your separate body, but the one you love is still there.

That's a miracle.

You can go to heaven and come back alive. You can go back anytime you want with the one you love.

Josh, I must say, you always come up with the most intriguing questions, kudos to you.

I channel my emotions through my SH. I don't cry in front of people, I don't even like crying in front of myself, so I try not to do that. On rare occasions I'll scream, but I don't do it often because I hate my scream and how I sound.

I stay quiet, and I try not to let people know how much emotional pain I'm in, so I look all right during the day, at school, and in front of family and friends.

However when I'm by myself, I break down. All these dumb thoughts come to my head, and I can't control it, then I SH, lie awake all night, and I try to cry because I hear it helps, but the truth is most of the time I can't, and I don't understand it.

So simple answer: SH. It's horrible, but that's what I have at the moment.

I laugh. It's a weird thing my mom and me do, when ever we see something is wrong or in help we laugh. Not ina mean way or anything but we just do it.
In serious situations we laugh. SOme people think we are been rude but we are not.

Usually I cry, but it depends on why I'm feeling emotional.

I get very very angry. I normally have a very short temper, but when I get stressed out, I get out of control.
I cry, alot. No matter where I am. or who I'm with. I just cry and cry haha.
Sometimes I just get lost in thoughts. You really never know haha.

I write. I make my characters feel what I'm feeling, and somehow that lessens my emotions. Needless to say, my characters go through some weird shit. xD

It really just depends what im feel but usualy I just let it build up untill I explode. The things that sets me off determines how I react like if im mad I usualy yell and punch walls, If I start crying I try to hold it in cant stand people to see my cry so if I cant stop it I try laughing it off so ppl cant tell im actually crying.

I dont deal with them very well.

I also have to give kudos to you for asking intriguing questions, Josh!

It's actually quite a difficult question to answer actually! I think it really depends on my emotion and the degree of severity to it. If I'm angry then I'm terrible, I'll shout and be quite violent sometimes so I usually retreat to my room where I can do the whole punching-pillow routine or I'll direct my anger inwards. If I'm upset then I'll cry for a while and I'll isolate myself, though isolating myself usually makes things worse.

Unfortunately, I'm a crier. When I feel any emotion to an extreme (anger, happiness, sadness, anxiety, etc. etc.) I tend to cry. Normally, though, I tend to go running at the same time so I can factor in some adrenaline.
